Accidents of Life

Accidents of life represents our journey on this planet, where we experience joy, love, doubt, hope, grief, excitement, despair and many other emotions. Some of these emotions and experiences are cyclical, and some are fresh, new and unique. Some make us feel happy and alive, and some we wish to forget. But when we look back and see, we realize that they blend in well together! They each played their part in making us the person we are today. We feel that the journey was worth it after all, and in embracing these experiences, we embrace ourselves.

Inspired by the philosophy of “going with the flow” and “trusting the journey”, the process begins with the blending and veiling of different colors which set the backdrop of the painting. Additional layers of marks, colors, motifs and texture are further pushed back and forth, creating playfulness and visual excitement.
